In 1980, Rick and Chip Stockell decided to draw on their years of information technology experience to form Stockell Consulting; an IT staffing company specializing in placing talented professionals to implement and manage third party systems for business and non-profit clients in the St. Louis metro area.
Within just a few short years, Stockell Consulting was developing its own packaged solutions for warehouse automation, supply chain management, and inventory management. As a result, in 1986, they formed Stockell Information Systems (became Stockell Healthcare Systems in 1997) with Rick assuming the role of president while Chip continued to direct the business of Stockell Consulting.
By 1986, the firm was also developing a wide range of solutions for the healthcare market. As they worked with these healthcare clients, Rick and Chip realized that there simply was not a single, solid end-to-end patient accounting and billing solution available to meet the demand; and thus began the process of designing and developing such a solution.
The Introduction of InsightCS®
In 1990, InsightCS® was formally introduced as a complete go-to solution for hospitals, healthcare networks, and behavioral health facilities seeking robust universal (practice management and hospital) patient and insurance billing and collections, as well as a full suite of additional built-in tools including patient and resource scheduling, patient registration, medical necessity and eligibility checking, claims resolution, contract management, denial tracking, document imaging and much more.
Today, Stockell Healthcare Systems is providing InsightCS® solutions and services to a wide range of clients including hospitals (Acute Care, Community, Critical Access, Emergency), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and Behavioral Healthcare Organizations across the United States and abroad.
